The Purpose of Humans? Part 4

I’ve only ever read two books I couldn’t stand.  One was Darwin’s Origin of Species and the second was the Bible.  Both deal with evolution. Or how everything came to be. The problem is I didn’t believe either one.

Genesis in the Bible is an interesting tale but is just too pat and too limiting to account for the richness of what I see around me. There is not―nor ever will be―convincing proof.

Darwin’s Theory of Evolution just does not seem reasonable to me―despite all the scientists who assure me it has been proven beyond doubt.  I haven’t read one of their “proofs” that doesn’t seem equivocal to me.

I believe evolution is occurring―for life, if not necessarily for humans. And I wonder: if Darwinists and Creationists could stop their foolish war―might a better theory than either be found?

However, humans are presently conducting the most rapid process of changes―call it evolution if you wish―that has ever happened.  We are creating mutants daily in our labs. Mashing species together and then releasing these “products” after a few months or years of testing―but never, it seems, after decades of testing―because they represent new items for us to sell.  We are spreading these new “chimeras” knowingly or inadvertently throughout our environment.  What a startlingly narrow viewpoint.

We humans are promoting the most rapid and extensive conversion of species―annihilating many thoughtlessly while compounding others into mutants―but we don’t call them mutants, we call them GMO’s.

Are we promoting―enabling―Nature’s evolution without even recognizing what we are doing?  Is this the purpose of humans?  (to be continued)
